    Hi guys,

Just curious, is it possible to sharpen two/three flute end mill bits? if so, what method?

I purchased a few cheap chinese bits whilst I’m still practising the whole ‘speeds and feeds’ thing but was hoping to get some more life out of these suckers…

    Any info would be gold.

Yep, you can do it in a lathe (or on the mill) with some simple fixtures. If you just want to sharpen the bottom edges, then all you need is a jig to hold it at a fixed angle and index it to two or three positions.

These jigs are fairly simple to make.

    Here’s a commercial example:

    sharp2
