    Gday

Just need someone to machine a spacer to mount my new headstock and drive assembly  so that it matches the same height as the tailstock and possible alight them up.

Pictured below is the new head and tailstock with the existing baseplate and tailstock slider.

    cheers

    Trevor

Sorry Trevor, I’ve been away and didn’t spot this.

Just about done. The shitty chinese steel base broke my last M8 tap which slowed me down a bit.
Got the headstock on and clocked up better than 150um over the 300mm length of the bar.  That’s about as good as it’s going to get. There’s >50um of run out in the chuck and the end of the bar moves 200um if I lift one corner of the base..
The aluminium plate for the tailstock is warped, so I’ll flycut that and shim the tailstock over the weekend..

    PK,

    Thanks again for your assistance.

Hope you received your gift in one piece.

It could be a family member?

    Trevor
